IT-GIRLS: Suki Waterhouse

Updated: Nov 6, 2018

About her:

Suki is an English actress, model and entrepreneur. She began her modelling career after being discovered in a pub in London when she was 16 and has since modelled for numerous brands including Burberry, Redken, Tommy Hilfiger (alongside sister Immy), Swatch, H&M, Coast, Max Studio and Pepe Jeans. She has appeared on the cover of British, Korean, Thai, Taiwanese and Turkish Vogue, Tatler, British and Korean Elle as well as Lucky, L'Officiel, American Marie Claire, French Grazia and 1883 Magazine.

Why we love her (and you should too):

In addition to being one of the most exclusive and intriguing British models, Suki is also an innovative photographer, a talented stylist and a particularly sought after actress. She has shown her photography work at the Eb and Flow gallery in London along with Reggie Yates and Imogen Morris Clarke in an exhibition presented by Next Model Management called 'I'll Be Your Mirror'. In February 2014, she posed completely nude for Dominic Jones Jewelry's autumn/winter campaign at London Fashion Week. In September 2016, she announced the launch of Pop & Suki, a direct-to-consumer Millennial-targeted accessories brand that she co-founded with her best friend Poppy Jamie and CEO Leo Seigal. The focus of the brand is on customization and versatility, and Pop & Suki has since been featured in publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, W Magazine , and Elle Magazine. The brand's signature customizable Camera Bag was referred to by Who What Wear as the"Bag Every It Girl Owns". For Pop & Suki's launch, the brand took over Mel's Drive-In in Hollywood and converted it into a pop-up pink-themed Pop & Suki Diner. Regarding her career as an actress, she played Marlene in the sequel The Divergent Series: Insurgent in 2015, Arlen in Ana Lily Amirpour's romance thriller film The Bad Batch, Quintana in Billionaire Boys Club, Cecily of York in the Starz miniseries adaptation of the novel The White Princess by Philippa Gregory, the leading female role "The Girl", in the 2017 drama movie The Girl Who Invented Kissing. Suki is also in Drew Michael's new HBO special.

Her Style:

She stands out thanks to her innate British class and her ability to pass, nearly in a chameleonic way, from one style to another: from a bon ton to a rock & roll or even to a 60's inspired look. Briefly, Suki's style is a blend of luxury fashion and edgy vintage pieces. Talking to Vogue UK , Suki revealed her dressing philosophy:

Play dress up as you did when you were little, without inhibition, just the pure joy of dressing up and it will set you free.
